Bode Bench finished 18 holes in the 80s Thursday at Northridge Country Club in Tekamah.
The Fort Calhoun senior led his Pioneers golf team in their final regular season tournament, finishing with 84 strokes. He shot a 41 on the front nine holes and a 43 on Nos. 10-18.
Coach Dustin Humphrey's squad finished with 397 total swings during the Tekamah-Herman Tigers' tourney. Vinny Bonacci contributed 102 — with just 47 on the back nine holes — while Landon Miller carded 103.
Jayden Miller carded 46 swings on the front nine and finished with 108 total. Grant Nixon, meanwhile, had 118 strokes.
Next, FCHS plays during the Class C-2 District Tournament at Oakland Golf Club. That tourney begins today at 9 a.m.
Bench has been the Pioneers' top finisher for most of the 2021 season — the first Calhoun golf season since 2019 due to COVID-19. His low score for the season is 78, which he carded at the North Bend Invite.
