City of Oakland Council Proceedings AUGUST 16TH, 2021 On AUGUST 16TH, 2021, the City Council of the City of Oakland, Nebraska, met on this day at 5:30 p.m. in regular session at the Municipal Building, 401 North Oakland Avenue in Oakland, Nebraska for the regular monthly meeting. Tim has mentioned he is having the person who is potentially buying it, do a lot of updates and remodeling. From the electrical side of it Mr. Ogborn said only one fire happened, not two. He is asking for an extension, so that the potential buyer who is a contractor. He became a landlord in 2015 but it was a land contract. Mayor Beckner discussed issues about the electrical meter being pulled. Final decision was Mr. Tim Ogborn has 30 days to get it fixed and if it passes the City's codes by September 16th, 2021, city may or may not release the condemnation depending. Chief Poland #491 mentioned that the communal dorm style on the inside / was neglected and it was showing within the 6 years when they have done calls to that address in the past. Councilman Anderson mentioned how with the cost of the housing/building material may cost more than the demolition. During the discussion Tim left out at 5:50pm. DEPARTMENTS: At 6:16pm Councilman J. Johansen updated the Water / Sewer Department projects. 1) The Emergency hookup is complete and ready to go. It was not placed as to the South as planned due to tree roots, they needed to make sure it is cleared out. It is capped on the side. 135 psi ( from Logan East ). 2) The Electrician is currently at sewer plant valves to be running properly again. 3) Moving along with the test wells sites - end of Aurora Street , ditch from school dirt to be dumped so washout is fixed. August 16th, 2021, Street Bryan started for getting path ready for the test wells East of the terrace that are to be started around August 23rd, 2021 . 4) The Fulton Street / Sewer problem has had JEO our engineers ask for bids and at this moment none have accepted as most cannot come till December 2021. One company is "Sawyer" which they have not called Supervisor Dan Tanksley III yet. JEO and the City will continue to reach out to companies to receive a bid. BUSINESS: At 6:59pm Councilman L. Blanc made a motion to approve having Building Inspector Jeff Rennerfeldt score the property at Lot 1, 15th Addition, Oakland NE, commonly known as 501 W. Fourth St. Motion was seconded by Councilman N. Anderson. All present Voting : Yay (Nathan ,Luke, Jeremiah,)- 3, Nay - 0. Excused Council President G.Mockenhaupt. At 7:00pm Councilman N. Anderson made a motion to approve and accept the Deed from Justin and Christina Hanshew donating real property to the city "S. Logan Ave." Motion was seconded by Councilman J. Johansen. All present Voting : Yay (Nathan ,Luke, Jeremiah,)- 3, Nay - 0. Excused Council President G.Mockenhaupt. At 7:05pm with no further items to be discussed Councilman N.
