City of Oakland Council Proceedings JULY 19TH, 2021 On JULY 19TH, 2021, the City Council of the City of Oakland, Nebraska, met on this day at 5:30 p.m. in regular session at the Municipal Building, 401 North Oakland Avenue in Oakland, Nebraska for the regular monthly meeting. Council members present, Mayor Ted Beckner, Council President Greg Mockenhaupt, Councilman Nathan Anderson, Councilman Luke Blanc, and Councilman Jeremiah Johansen were all in attendance. He informed the Council that some "slow children playing" signs were moved to more beneficial locations. Armor coating in the locations chosen for this year are completed. Solid Waste Dept: At 6:10pm Councilman N. Anderson discussed the future compost area in the far west side. He also mentioned the hopeful camera systems that need to be put in. Hope to open the compost area and will need to get ahold of county for the questions. N. Anderson discussed possibly having the Recycling company to buy our trailer and they would come take to back to Omaha instead of G. Groene doing it. Solid Waste supervisor advised to sell the trailer for about $1,500.00 to $3,000.00 BUSINESS: At 6:28pm Councilman N. Anderson made a motion to approve the Lot Split for South half of Lot 11, Block 6, City of Oakland, Burt County, Nebraska, commonly known as 321 N Oakland Ave- Clay Olson. Motion was seconded by Councilman G.Mockenhaupt. Discussion of the Skywave who will be building a hub that they will need to put the door to the alley side if possibly to give the best curb appeal. All present Voting : Yay (Nathan ,Luke, Jeremiah, Greg)- 4, Nay - 0. At 6:28pm Councilman L. Blanc made a motion to approve allowing Oakland-Craig Public Schools to have the City make 4 keys to the Auditorium for the O-C administration to carry for the emergency procedure. Motion was seconded by Councilman N. Anderson. All present Voting : Yay (Nathan ,Luke, Jeremiah, Greg)- 4, Nay - 0. At 6:40pm the City Council agreed to continue moving forward with naming the streets with the park that was approve back in January 2019. The names that were approved are A.E. Wells Parkway, Renard Mill St. , Millicent Lane, Homes St., Nelson Ave., Erickson Ave., Samson Parkway, Arlington Lane. At 6:45pm Councilman G.Mockenhaupt made a motion to approve and award Sargant Drilling for the Water Project Test Well Sites. Motion was seconded by Councilman L. Blanc. All present Voting : Yay (Nathan ,Luke, Jeremiah, Greg)- 4, Nay - 0. At 6:47pm Councilman G.Mockenhaupt made a motion to approve Resolution 2021-8. Motion was seconded by Councilman L. Blanc. All present Voting : Yay (Nathan ,Luke, Jeremiah, Greg)- 4, Nay - 0. At 6:50pm Councilman L. Blanc made a motion to approve "Notice & Order to Abate & Repair Unsafe Building" for Lot 23-24 & W of L 24 Block 1 Brewster Addition, Oakland NE - 407 E. Third St. All present Voting : Yay (Nathan ,Luke, Jeremiah, Greg)- 4, Nay - 0. At 6:51pm with no further items to be discussed Councilman N. Anderson made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
