Clara Ann (Wistrom) Loppnow (born September 27, 1927) passed away on January 22, 2024 at the age of 96, in Bonney Lake, Washington. She was the daughter of Clarence & Anna Wistrom of West Point, Nebraska, where she was born. She was raised on the family farm there and then in the Oakland area, where she went to High School.
Upon his return from the Army Air Corp. in January 1946, Clara married Jack E. Loppnow (of Lyons, NE) on March 24th at the Westside Methodist Church. Jack was the son of Edwin & Marguerete Loppnow of Lyons.
Clara & Jack then moved to Los Angeles, where they both worked for Garrett Airesearch Co. (Jack for 37 years). Clara became a stay at home Mother in 1950, returning to secretarial work at Union Carbide in 1970.
They retired and moved to San Marcos, CA. in 1983, and had many travel adventures across the country in their RV, as well as international trips to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific. In 2010 they moved up to a Retirement Community in Issaquah, WA to be near their Grandsons.
Clara was preceded in death by Jack in 2015 after 69 years of marriage. She leaves behind daughter Joan (of Los Angeles), son James (Susan) and grandsons David (Nichole) & Andrew (Kara), all of the Seattle, WA area.
