Elizabeth A. “Betty” Bengtson, 93 years, of Fremont, NE passed away Friday, October 20, 2023 at the Oakland Heights Nursing Home in Oakland, NE.
Betty was born on August 11, 1930 to Harley and Minnie (Seager) Beard in Fremont, NE. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1950. On November 7, 1959, Betty married Carl E. Bengtson in Papillion, NE.
Betty lived her whole life in Fremont. She worked for Campbells Soup Co. until their closing and a few restaurants throughout Fremont. She was a member of the VFW women’s Auxiliary and the Salvation Army. She volunteered many years at the Senior Center in Fremont.
Betty was preceded by her parents; husband; grandchild, Thomas Laney; and brothers-in-law, Earl Pederson and Gary Saunders.
She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (Charles) Dillender, Cathleen Kuntz, and Christi Bengtson; sons, Carl and Clark Bengtson; sisters, Virginia Pederson and Linda Saunders; brother, James (Peggy) Beard; and 4 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be 1 P.M., Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, NE. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at Moser’s. The burial will take place at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
