LYONS CITY COUNCIL MEETING September 2, 2021 A meeting of the Mayor and Council of the City of Lyons was called to order by Mayor Fuston at 5:30 P.M., September 2, 2021, at the Lyons City Hall. Present were Council members Wheaton, Housh Sr, Steinmeyer, and Brink. There were no members of the public in attendance at the meeting. The meeting was called to order upon motion by Steinmeyer, second by Wheaton. On roll call, AYE: Steinmeyer, Wheaton, Brink, Housh Sr. NAY: None. Absent: None. Mayor Fuston publicly stated to all in attendance that a current copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act was available for review and indicated the location of such copy posted in the room. All proceedings hereafter shown were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public. Public Hearing Motion by Brink, seconded by Wheaton, to enter into a Public Hearing at 5:30 p.m. On roll call, AYE: Housh Sr, Steinmeyer, Wheaton, Brink. NAY: None. Absent: None. Mayor Fuston opened the Public Hearing at 5:31 p.m. for the purpose of hearing public comments, objections on the proposed 2021-2022 budget. There were no verbal or written comments or objections. Motion by Steinmeyer, seconded by Housh Sr to adjourn the Public Hearing. On roll call, AYE: Brink, Steinmeyer, Wheaton, Housh Sr. NAY: None. Absent: None. Mayor Fuston closed the public hearing at 5:32 p.m. Public Hearing Motion by Steinmeyer, seconded by Housh Sr to enter into a Public Hearing at 5:32 p.m. On roll call, AYE: Wheaton, Steinmeyer, Brink, Housh Sr. NAY: None. Absent: None. Mayor Fuston opened the Public Hearing at 5:33 p.m. for the purpose of hearing public comments, objections on setting the property tax request at a different amount than the prior year. There were no verbal or written comments or objections. Motion by Wheaton, seconded by Brink to adjourn the Public Hearing. On roll call, AYE: Brink, Wheaton, Steinmeyer, Housh Sr. NAY: None. Absent: None. Mayor Fuston closed the public hearing at 5:34 p.m. The regular meeting opened after the close of the last Public Hearing. Motion by Steinmeyer, seconded by Housh Sr to approve Resolution No. 2021-6: Increase the restricted funds authority by one percent to become three and one-half percent. On roll call, AYE: Housh Sr, Steinmeyer, Wheaton, Brink. NAY: None. Absent: None. Motion by Wheaton, seconded by Brink to approve Resolution No. 2021-7: 2021-2022 Budget Year – Set Property Tax request at a different amount than prior year. On roll call, AYE: Wheaton, Steinmeyer, Brink, Housh Sr. NAY: None. Absent: None. Motion by Steinmeyer, seconded by Housh Sr to approve Resolution No. 2021-8: Adopt the 2021-2022 Budget. On roll call, AYE: Brink, Steinmeyer, Housh Sr, Wheaton. NAY: None. Absent: None. Motion by Housh Sr, seconded by Steinmeyer to adjourn the meeting at 5:36 P.M.
