Steven Allen Johnson passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023, at Oakland Heights Nursing Home after battling Parkinson’s disease.
Steve was born in Oakland, NE on May 20, 1955, to Don and Dolores (Danielson) Johnson. He grew up in Lyons, NE and graduated from Lyons High School in 1973. Following high school he joined the family business, Johnson’s Hardware. Steve and his father Don worked closely together and shared many hobbies which included working on old cars, going to swap meets, and collecting antiques. Steve and Don purchased various vehicles throughout the years. Steve’s favorite car was his 1991 Chevy Corvette. Steve enjoyed trips to Branson, MO where he liked to watch live country music shows.
Steve married Nancy Bring and out of that marriage two children were born Leslie and Jeremiah.
He was preceded in death by his dad Donald Johnson and grandparents.
Steve is survived by his mother Dolores, daughter Leslie (Jody) Sampson, son Jeremiah (Rachel) Johnson, grandchildren Hannah, Zoe, Gabrielle, Brayden, Sienna, Isaiah, and Hezekiah, step-grandchildren Abbey and Caden, brother, Tom Johnson, special friend Kelly Davis-Storm.
A funeral service was held on Monday, December 4, 2023, 10:30 am at First Presbyterian Church in Lyons, NE with visitation one hour prior to service at the church. Burial took place at Lyons Cemetery, Lyons. Memorials suggested to the family for future designation.
