A Special Hearing was held September 9, 2024 in the Board Meeting Room in the Elementary Building immediately following the Budget Hearing. Administrators present were Superintendent Jessica Bland, Secondary Principal Michelle Burton, and Elementary Principal MacKenzie Charling. President Anderson called the hearing to order at 7:37 p.m. and noted the Open Meetings Law. Notice of this meeting was properly posted and/or published by advance Public Notice in accordance with Board Policy #2008 with notice and advance agenda given to the President of the Board and all members prior to the meeting date. Brett Johnson moved to excuse the absence of Kiley Johnson & Tim Magnusson. Diane Pelan-Johnson seconded the motion. Voting results were: For Motion -7; Against Motion-0, Motion carried. ROLL CALL Roll Call was called with the following members present: Marilee Groth, Brett Johnson, Dane Johnson, Diane Pelan-Johnson, Gus Ray, Henry Unwin and Aaron Anderson. PURPOSE OF THE HEARING The purpose of this hearing is to hear support, opposition, criticism, suggestions, and observations of taxpayers on the proposed 2024-2025 Property Tax request for the General Fund, the Building Fund and the Bond Fund. During this hearing the Board will receive public comment on the levy as it is considered for adoption by the Board of Education. Superintendent Bland reviewed the proposed 2024-2025 Tax Levies of the General Fund, Bond Fund and Building Fund. The combined levies result in a total levy of $0.950296, compared to $1.006494 the previous year. President Anderson asked for further comments from the board and visitors present.
