LYONS CITY COUNCIL MEETING May 4, 2021 A regular meeting of the Mayor and Council of the City of Lyons was called to order by Mayor Fuston at 5:30 P.M., May 4, 2021, at the Lyons Community Center to abide with the social distancing guidelines for the Coronavirus pandemic. Present were Council members Housh Sr, Steinmeyer, and Wheaton. Brink had an excused absence. The meeting was called to order upon motion by Steinmeyer, second by Housh Sr. On roll call, AYE: Steinmeyer, Housh Sr, Wheaton. NAY: None. Absent: Brink. Mayor Fuston publicly stated to all in attendance that a current copy of the Nebraska Open Meetings Act was available for review and indicated the location of such copy posted in the room. Public Hearing Motion by Wheaton, seconded by Housh Sr to enter into a Public Hearing. On roll call, AYE: Wheaton, Housh Sr, Steinmeyer. NAY: None. Absent: Brink. Mayor Fuston opened the Public Hearing to consider objections to the rezoning of Lot 1 Coffin Addition from Low Density Residential to Medium Density Residential in the City of Lyons. City Office did not receive any written and signed comments or objections from the general public. The Planning Commission recommended amending the zoning ordinance to remove restriction paragraphs “a” through “g” under Section 5.07 Medium Density Residential District; subsection 5.07.03 Permitted Conditional Uses: Paragraph 1 Multiply family dwellings. There being no other verbal or written comments or objections, a motion by Wheaton, seconded by Housh Sr was made to adjourn the Public Hearing. On roll call, AYE: Wheaton, Steinmeyer, Housh Sr. NAY: None. Absent: Brink. Mayor Fuston closed the public hearing.
