The Board of Education of the Lyons-Decatur School District No. 20 met in regular session on Monday, April 8, 2024, in the Secondary Library. Present were Archer, Bacon, Brehmer, Christiansen, Miller, Myers, Petersen, and Vlach. Absent: Troutman. Lisa Christiansen opened the meeting at 7:32 p.m. Superintendent Report: An update was provided on the snow days we have used this year and the hours we have accumulated, per the state requirement. The teacher contracts for 2024-2025 were signed, as well as the diplomas for the 2024 graduates. Teacher appreciation week is scheduled for May 6th – 10th and graduation will be held on May 12th, with Brehmer, Christiansen, and Myers assisting. Principal Report: Professional development time over the last month was spent on special education/inclusion, data, and technology. There are many activities and events happening throughout the school, please check the website and social media for updates. The Building and Grounds Committee met for our bi-weekly meetings with Clark & Enersen and Boyd Jones on March 14th and 28th. The following motions were made: 1. To approve the consent agenda. 2. To approve the program offerings for 2024-2025. 3. To approve the classified staff package for 2024-2025. 4. To accept the resignation of Mrs. Deb Hightree, with regrets, at the end of the 2023-24 school year. 5. To accept the resignation of Mr. Aaron Stemen at the end of the 2023-24 school year. 6. To accept the resignation of Mr. Morgan Peatrowsky at the end of the 2023-24 school year. 7. To approve the teaching contract for Mr. Adam James for the 2024-25 school year.
